I had a reasonable day at work today. Some days I just don't think I'm cut out to manage, and other times I lack the motivation to work on anything that isn't needed straight away, but today was a knocking things off my to do list day. The ridiculous intensity of late last month is long gone but there's still a lot to and my job is to make sure it gets done, rather than actually doing it.

That pretty much sums up work.

We had a good weekend at home the last couple of days. Yesterday was the 7 Bridges Walk, also known as the 4 Bridges then Torrential Rain walk. I liked the idea when I first heard of it a couple of years ago, and I like it even more now I know more about it- free to register, no road closures- just existing pathways, donation stations for about 4 different charities, and I like Sydney's bridges.

Jo tolerated the first bout of rain, but by the time we crossed the Iron Cove Bridge the ridiculous torrential rain which most of Sydney experienced hit, and we were a couple of drowned rats huddling under a bus shelter waiting for the rain to stop so we could run back to the little stand to get our book stamped. I conceded defeat (we'd come 12km which was no mean feat) and we went home to do some painting. Well, to be honest, I haven't done any painting while Jo's done 3 coats on two walls in the last month, but I've been getting the other stuff done around her.

The other 3 weekends since I last wrote... on the long weekend Jo and I went up to Barrington Tops, and the weather was about as spectacular as the second half of yesterday, but it was good to get away (there's always the flipside where I'd love to spend a long weekend at home with no plans). The following Friday was Q&A- I had a 90 minute set starting at midnight which was very cool-see setlist below.

Yesterday aside, the previous two Sundays both involved excess, in the form of the lethal combination of alcohol, Jo, Fran and Phillipa. Two weeks ago Fran had us around for lunch which lasted until about 11pm, and last Sunday the girls had a girls day before coming back here for Espresso Martini's (I've discovered I make a mean Espresso Martini) and more drinking. Somewhere in there was Gen and Berns at the Vanguard with Lucy, Meegs and Fi, plus the odd Wednesday night trivia.

That's about all for now- check out my last Q&A set...
